The Hobie Sport has become one of our best sellers here at Tumalo Creek since we started carrying Hobie this spring. This is a great boat for youth and smaller adults as well as bigger folks looking for a very light-weight pedaling kayak.
Paddlers or “pedalers” in this case, love the Sport because it is so versatile. It has a couple of convenient hatches for storage, two drink holders, a rudder control right next to the seat, two fishing rod holders and a large rear cargo area with bungee tie downs.
Boaters also love that the Sport is the lightest of the Hobie kayaks (besides the inflatable) which means transporting it is easy. We’ve had some older anglers that have come into the shop with back problems who told us the that they have had great luck with the custom Hobie cart system that makes moving the boat a breeze. They also love that they can fish with their hands free.
