Event Overview
Join us again this year for one of Bend’s most anticipated holiday events—the Tumalo Creek Holiday Lights Paddle Parade!
Here’s how it works: Paddlers dress up in costume and decorate their kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards with colorful, battery-operated lights and holiday gear. From there, shortly before sunset, the parade kicks off from the Tumalo Creek shop on the Deschutes River before heading through the Old Mill District in Bend.
Avid paddlers are encouraged to join, and spectators can watch from paved paths along the Deschutes River and from the Old Mill District Flag Bridge, which crosses the winding waterway.
PARTICIPANTS:
Only battery-powered lighting on your vessels, please
In the spirit of river stewardship, don’t put anything on your craft that will end up in the river—pack it in, pack it out!
Park in our storefront parking lot
We launch at dusk, which is around 4pm
There is no designated time to be here for set-up—show up however early you need
Bring hot beverages & snacks for your paddle
It’s REALLY cold out—cold water and alcohol do not mix, so save the party for after the float
