Don’t let another summer slip by without trying your hand at the incredibly fun and easy-to-learn sport of flatwater kayaking.
Adventure. Community. Expertise. That’s what we’re all about here at Tumalo Creek Kayak & Canoe. We’re your locally owned and operated paddling shop creating life-long paddlers for over a decade. Visit us at our retail store and learning center, located right on the banks of the Deschutes River, just downstream from the Old Mill District. Sign up for classes, take a full-day river tour, or browse the largest selection of kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, canoes and rafting gear in Central Oregon.
Our staff has over a hundred years of combined experience exploring remote coastlines, leading sea kayaking tours from Mexico to Alaska, and navigating some of the world’s most challenging whitewater. And while we love to share our stories, we’re most interested in hearing yours: Let’s get you out on the water with the knowledge, skills and gear you need to enjoy a safe and comfortable afternoon paddle or a full-on sea expedition. And then make sure to come back and tell us all about it.
We’re always happy to price match and we want to make it as easy as we can to help you support local business.

Thanks for a fantastic San Juan seven-day trip! The kayaking was fabulous, the food was amazing and the camaraderie was great! The first day’s navigation across the shipping channel in the fog was awesome; I would never have attempted that on my own. The meals were varied and wonderful and the dutch oven deserts memorable. Geoff, the organization and planning of the trip was flawless. You can sign me up now for next year!
I feel more like family at Tumalo Creek than just a customer. They have a great selection of boats, paddles and gear and if they don’t have it they’ll get it, and they stand behind everything they sell.
I was looking for a way to get more active and take advantage of all the beautiful lakes and rivers in Central Oregon. Tumalo Creeks BSK gave me all the skills I need and now I have my own boat and get out in the summers a couple of times a week!
