The half-day trip on the Upper Deschutes is only 20 minutes from Bend, making it the perfect mini-adventure!
The half-day trip on the Upper Deschutes is the perfect mini-adventure for visitors who still want to fit another activity into their day. This flatwater section of the Deschutes, lying between Benham and Dillion Falls, provides an excellent escape for those seeking a casual paddling outing. Paddlers will encounter formations created by lava flows that surged down from Paulina Peak during its period of volcanic activity. On this trip we will have the opportunity to explore aspen groves and mountain views.
Although a casual outing, do expect to enjoy some upstream paddling as this is an "out and back" trip.
