CALL FOR CLEAN UP VOLUNTEERS!
Tumalo Creek is pleased to announce our first annual Sunriver Deschutes River Clean-up, a spin-off event inspired by the Bend Deschutes River Clean-up, hosted for over 20 years by the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council and more recently, Enjoy Protect Respect Stewardship Committee.
When: Sunday, September 15th at 10am-3pm (with beers and music to follow)
Where: Starting and Finishing at the SROA Boat Ramp
VOLUNTEERS SHOULD KNOW:
– Work includes paddling and/or walking the river collecting trash
– We will split into small teams to clean the most heavily trafficked areas such as Besson day use, Harpers Bridge, and Big River Campground. Shuttles provided.
– Trash bags, gloves, and some boats provided to aid the cleanup efforts
– Feel free to bring your own gear such as paddleboards, kayaks, goggles, wet suits, or trash pickers/grabbers
Please join us at Tumalo Creek Sunriver for a small gathering for volunteers in Mary McCallum Park (adjacent to the boat ramp) with beers provided by Sunriver Brewing Company and bluegrass music after the cleanup has finished. Our Partners: Deschutes County Search and Rescue, Sunriver Chamber of Commerce and Sunriver Brewing Company.
