When: Friday, May 4th Kayak Clinic at 10am, Paddleboard clinic at 2pm. Sunday, May 6th, Kayak Clinics at 10am & 1pm, Paddleboard Clinic at 2pm, with demo day on Saturday May 5th at Riverbend Park.

Because paddle sports are the perfect summer compliment to a four season outdoor enthusiast in Central Oregon, we know you’ve been wanting to learn to kayak or standup paddleboard.  Tumalo Creek Kayak & Canoe’s 19th annual Spring Paddlefest Weekend is the perfect opportunity to give it a try! Tumalo Creek Kayak & Canoe will be offering two-hour intro to kayak and standup paddleboard courses for only $35 on May 4 & 6, free demos on May 5th at Riverbend Park and retail paddle gear will be on sale in store throughout the weekend!

Kayak clinics begin at 10am on Friday and Sunday. Standup paddleboard clinics will begin at 2pm both days. This early season offering sells out fast so save your spot by booking online now!

After this clinic, participants will be able to effectively navigate boats or boards by using a variety of basic strokes and paddle techniques. You’ll develop the technique and confidence to enjoy Central Oregon’s waterways on your own!

Saturday’s Paddlefest Celebration at Riverbend Park will be the perfect time to try your new paddle skills while demoing the latest boat and board models from premier brands and manufacturers.

And if you fall in love, and we know you will, Tumalo Creek’s Bend shop location, in the Old Mill on the Deschutes River across from the Whitewater Park (a short distance from Riverbend Park) will hold a store wide RETAIL SALE.

What to bring:

  • Sneakers, river shoes, or wetsuit booties
  • Sunglasses with Croakies or Chums
  • Sunscreen and lip balm
  • Sun hat, rain hat or fleece hat
  • Synthetic top and bottom (weather dependent)
  • Raincoat and rain pants (weather dependent)
  • Swimsuit
  • Water bottle
