We can’t think of a better way to spend a sweltering afternoon renting river tubes and enjoying a relaxing float down the Deschutes River through the Old Mill District and down to Mirror Pond at Drake Park. Tumalo Creek rents tubes for $15 for two hours and thanks to an efficient shuttle service run by Bend Area Transit, floaters can get a ride back up to the put-in at Farewell Bend Park for only $3.00.

Float the River

Float the river right from Tumalo Creek. Park your car in our lot, rent your tubes and then walk under the Colorado Bridge and across the foot bridge to put in at McKay Park. From there you will float down to Drake Park and meet the shuttle. You can then ride all the way up to Riverbend Park and float back down to Tumalo Creek through the Old Mill District. Using the map below, you would start at B, float down to A, and ride the shuttle back up to C. From there you’d float back down to Tumalo Creek where you started. Please exit river right UPSTREAM OF THE WHITEWATER PARK. You will see signs to EXIT THE RIVER. You will see the big red mill building that is Tumalo Creek on the right.
